The Guerin Prize

The Guerin Prize, established in 1999, offers members of Marlborough's junior class an opportunity to write a competitive essay about the living American whom they most admire.  The winner of the Guerin Prize is provided the  unique and special opportunity to meet the subject of her essay.

Each student interested in competing for the Guerin Prize submits an essay of no more than 1,000 words. Finalists are selected based on the clarity of thought, strength of conviction, enthusiasm, and determination conveyed in the essays. Finalists participate in individual interviews with a panel of judges who will make the final selection of the Guerin Prize winner. The Guerin Prize provides for travel expenses, if necessary, for both the student and her faculty sponsor. The finalists are expected to participate in the selection of the Guerin Visiting Scholar.

The Guerin Prize, along with the Guerin Visiting Scholars Program, is funded by the Guerin Endowed Fund established by Trustee Rick Guerin.
