Alumna Named Female Athlete of the Week

12/10/2010
Kate Grace ’07, a senior at Yale, was named female athlete of the week by Hepstrack.com.

Kate Grace ’07, a senior at Yale, was named female athlete of the week by Hepstrack.com following a stellar performance in both the 800-meter run and the 1,000-meter run at her first track meet of the season. Grace won the 1,000-meter run in 2:55.53, and also claimed the 800-meter run. She finished in 2:14.99, almost four seconds ahead of her closest competitor.

In the winter 2010 issue of Marlborough Today, Grace credited Marlborough's coaches for helping her to develop as a successful athlete and student.

"The lessons that I learned from the Marlborough coaching staff were some of the most important that I brought with me to Yale," she said. "I have a competitive edge, and a belief in myself, because they first believed in me."

This is the first season Hepstrack.com has named an athlete of the week, making Grace the first honoree. Hepstrack.com reports on track and field competition at Ivy League Schools.
