Marlborough Athletics Creates New Sports Medicine Program

Marlborough School announces the creation of the Mustangs' Sports Medicine Program.

Colleen Hungerford, Athletic Trainer has lead the Marlborough program for the last 2 years and has established return to play policies, handled athlete eligibility, and managed injuries and rehabilitation for the Marlborough Athletic Program.

Joining Colleen to complete the Sports Medicine Program are 2 strength and conditioning coaches, who will work directly with the athletes and the coaching staff to supplement the training that happens on a daily basis at Marlborough.

Lindsay Yocum
Winter Season Sports (Basketball, Soccer, Water Polo)

Lindsay Yocum founded S.M.A.R.T. Training after 4 years of coaching experience in speed, strength, and athletic performance. Over the course of her career she has coached hundreds of athletes, ranging from youth to professionals. In the past 3 years she has worked with elite athletes represented in the NFL, MLB, AVP, IFL, Olympic Soccer and Volleyball teams, and numerous NCAA Division I schools.

Prior to founding S.M.A.R.T. Training, Lindsay worked at Velocity Sports Performance as a Senior Sports Performance Coach and Sports Nutrition Coach. She specializes in helping athletes of all ages and skill levels maximize their athletic potential and realize their performance goals.

Lindsay blends the intensity of a competitive athlete with a solid education. She has over 10 years of basketball experience, competing in college and at the national level. In 2005, Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Arts in exercise science at Willamette University. She holds a number of certifications including the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Club Coach, and nutrition and mental skills certifications.


Matt Aquino
Spring Season Sports (Softball, Swimming and Diving, Track and Field)

Matt is a degree holder in the field of kinesiology exercise science with over six years of experience in the field of strength and conditioning.  He's a result-focused, quality driven professional with extensive experience in sports specific training, coaching and developing programs of periodization.
Matt is currently the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Irvine Valley College Volleyball Program and is also the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Orange County Volleyball Club.  Matt  has established and manages his own Fitness and Wellness business.

Prior to Marlborough, Matt had coached with Shari Sakamoto at Harvard-Westlake School.
Matt joined Shari at Marlborough in the summer and is presently the Frosh/Soph Volleyball Coach, and assists with the Varsity Program.

Lindsay and Matt will work part-time with their respective sports, taking a lead role with the J-Period Athlete Conditioning program as athletes prepare for their season before working in partnership with the coaching staff during the competitive portion of the sports season.
